Chopsuey

The chopsuey definitely deserves a story. It is one of my Filipino favorite vegetable dish though the history is a bit of a blur to me. Nonetheless, a very tasty and healthy dish such as this at least will get a nice photo and some action. I do not cook the dish, my sister does. I only do the nosy job of stealing photographs why her hands are busy chopping and stirring. I love plating it and finally shoving it into my watering mouth. Of course when I was a kid the broccoli used to just roll down underneath the table.

So I cannot describe the details but the important ingredients include the onion, garlic, broccoli, carrots, cabbage, baby corn, shrimps, pork and quail eggs. Steamed rice is not a requirement but if you are Filipino then you definitely will need to get the rice cooker started while sautéing the vegetable dish. And if you want to skip boiling water for the eggs, drop them into the rice cooker before you press the cook button.

The end result doesn't have to exactly look like the one above. If your mom says so that it is chopsuey, then I congratulate you!
